Defender for Fortuna Dusseldorf Niko Gießelmann has expressed confidence in Ghanaian international Nana Ampomah to come good for the side in the second round of the German Bundesliga season.

The 24-year-old winger joined the club from Belgian side Waasland-Beveren in the summer transfer window on the back of an impressive stint.

Since his arrival in Germany, injuries have stopped him from exhibiting his quality, denying him the opportunity of exhibiting top quality.

Now battling relegation, Dusseldorf will need a revived performance in the second half, to ensure they go on to survive at the end of the campaign.

With the second round starting this weekend, Fortuna Dusseldorf defender Niko Gießelmann says Nana Ampomah will help the club.

“At the end of the second half of the season, Nana saw that he was taking steps forward. In the end, these can be players who are decisive for us”, the full-back said.

The defender added, “He is very eager to learn. That it didn't work out so well in the first half of the year also worried him. Nana has the quality. It's easier if I have one in front of me that puts pressure on the opposing full-backs. It is always important that you have someone in front of you who understands you, who knows what the interaction must be like”.
