E.K Afranie not impressed with the calls for Grant sacking

Former Coach of the Black Satellite, Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie has leapt to the defense of maligned coach of the senior national team Avram Grant.

The Israeli coach has been in the spot light lately for the wrong reasons due to the recent poor outings of the Black Stars, after the team's failure to record a victory in their last four games.

And this has led to calls for his sacking from some sections of football enthusiaists, but the veteran trainer E.K Afranie says he disagrees with the people that want his job to be taken away from him.

"I don't agree with those calling for the man to be sacked. Has the contract he signed with tje Ghana Football Association elapsed? If no, then why are people calling for his head," Afranie fumed on Alpha Sports.

"You've a contract with a coach until 2017 or 2018, and when he still has a running contract, you're telling him to go. Why should he go."

"We are fond of doing that. That's the same thing we did to our own Akwesi Appiah when he got back the Brazil World Cup, where we knew the difficulties he went through, but yet still Ghanaians campaigned against him to be sacked."

The Black Stars will play the Pharoahs of Egypt in the 2nd round of matches in the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier next month in Alexandria.
