Eagles Midfielder Yohan Cabaye Faces FA Disciplinary Action After Raking Studs on Coutinho's Thigh

Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye could face retrospective disciplinaryaction after appearing to rake his studs on Philippe Coutinho's thigh during the 4-2 defeat against Liverpool.

The 30-year-old Frenchman let his emotions boil over in the 55th minute while 3-2 down, clearly raking his studs down Coutinho's leg causing the Brazilian to roll around in agony.

But the incident was largely unnoticed byreferee Andre Marriner and his officials, with Cabaye's outburst going down unpunished.

The pair aggressively vied for the ball, leaving Coutinho in a heap while Cabaye showed no mercy to his opponent by viciously scraping the underside of his boot along Coutinho's leg.

Neither manager was asked about the incident in their post-match press conferences, and it also didn't come up inMarriner's match-report.

Cabaye stamps on Coutinho. Nothing given.

And nowThe Sunare reporting that the FA will probe the incident, which could result in a violent conduct ban for Cabaye.

Last weekend the FA stamped their authority by banningTottenham's Moussa Sissoko for three games after he elbowedBournemouth's Harry Arter inanother incident that wasn't picked up by the match-day referee.

Liverpool's win at Selhurst Park lifts them to the top of the table, joint with Arsenal and Manchester City who are above Jurgen Klopp's side on goal-difference.

Palace meanwhile slip into the lower-half of the table after suffering their third defeat in as many games.
