Ecstatic Jurgen Klopp Hails Players After Liverpool's 6-1 Thrashing of Watford

Liverpool managerJurgen Klopp praised his players after their mauling of Watford on Sunday, but insisted there were more areas to improve.

A Sadio Mane brace alongside strikes from Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum saw the Reds breeze past Watford, overtaking Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal to top the Premier League at the international break.

Speaking toLiverpool's official club websiteafter the game, Klopp praised his side's performances, highlighting Watford's defensive solidity prior to the match.

"I'm really happy actually. It was a good performance, absolutely, against a difficult opponent. In the last few games they had three clean sheets and not lucky clean sheets," Klopp stated.

"We knew about the challenge and we tried to do the right things in training and prepare the team for this. Obviously it worked, together with the confidence we obviously have, and the skills and the attitude of the players. So it worked out today.

"We could've scored more. But different moments “ you saw when we lost a little bit of concentration, that's normal with this kind of result. Keeping the ball is the best defending, we gave the ball a little bit too easy away and had to run a lot to get the ball back."

Liverpool are now top of the Premier League table, but Klopp has claimed there is no pressure on his side, with the season still very much in its youth.

"There's no pressure after 11 matchdays “ absolutely no pressure. We saw Chelsea playing yesterday, quite impressive. We saw City playing Barcelona, quite impressive. Man United, never write them off," Klopp continued.

"Tottenham, a good side¦ there are a lot of really good teams around and you can play a really good season, but when they are better “ which is possible because they're really not bad “ then you could be fifth or sixth and nobody would be really happy.

"So, stay cool, take the things like they are, playing your best football and win football games “ that's the only thing we can do."
