English-born Ghanaian international Eddie Nketia climbed off the bench to score for Leeds United to inspire them to a 2-0 win over Barnsley in the English championship over the weekend.

The Peacocks traveled to Oakwell Stadium on match week 7 in hopes of bagging all three points to try and stay top of the standings in the division.

Barnsley proved stronger than expected and held the away side at bay for 45 minutes.

Leeds kept their focus and resumed the second half very determined to tame the hosts. Eddie Nketia who is on loan from Arsenal was introduced on the 70th minute and made a huge impact by opening the scoring.

The attacker was at the end of a well-struck free-kick and volleyed his strike into the back of the net.

Mateusz Klich also found the back of the net five minutes later from the spot-kick to complete an emphatic 2-0 win.

Nketia and his Leeds United side are now top of the Championship standings with 16 points, keenly followed by Swansea who are also on 16 points.
