Edward Sarpong sure of Black Meteors qualification to 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games

Ghanaian attacker Edward Sarpong has expressed optimism in the abilities of the Black Meteors team to secure qualification to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Ghana is one of 8 countries set to compete at this years CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament which is being hosted by Egypt.

Whiles teams will be gunning for the ultimate prize, it will also be grounds to secure qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The 3 top teams at the tournament automatically book their ticket to the international showpiece.

As Ghana prepares to play her first game against Cameroon tomorrow, Edward Sarpong says he is confident Ghana can go all the way and grab one of the tickets for the Olympic Games.

“I’m 100% sure Ghana will qualify to Tokyo 2020 because we have an experienced technical team. With God on our side we will make it to the Olympics”, the highly-rated winger said.

He added, “I will plead with Ghanaians to pray for us. Our aim is to make Ghana and ourselves proud. We pray we secure qualification as one of the best three country’s” he added.

Ghana’s Group A opener against Cameroon will be played on Friday, November 8, 2019, at the Cairo International Stadium.
