Edwin Gyasi set to return to CSKA Sofia after lack of game time with FC Dallas

The Netherlands-born Ghanaian winger Edwin Gyasi is in contention to make a return to CSKA Sofia in January due to lack of playing opportunities.

Gyasi joined Major League Soccer side FC Dallas on a season-long loan deal from the Bulgarian outfit during the summer transfer window and there was an option to make the deal permanent.

However, reports have emerged that the 28-year-old is cutting his contract short due to not being awarded adequate minutes on the pitch and he has grown frustrated with the turn out of events at the club.

The winger of Ghanaian descent is set to return to Sofia during the winter window and he will be hoping to fight for a spot in the starting lineup upon his return.

"I know my qualities, my teammates know them too," he told Pro Soccer USA.

"Obviously, I came here for more playing time, and I'm not playing right now. I work hard during training and if I say I'm not disappointed I'm not playing, I'll lie.

"In the beginning, I had to get used to the weather and everything. It was very hot, but I got used to it. I think I need them to give me a chance. Nobody here can tell me I'm not good enough to not be in my 18s, he exclaimed.

Gyasi scored approximately six goals and involved himself in 10 assists from 50 appearances for CSKA Sofia before being shipped out on loan to FC Dallas.
