Egypt-based Ghanaians deserved to face Pharaoh's in World Cup qualifier - Torric Jebrin

Ghanaian playmaker Torric Jebrin believes players based in the Egyptian league should have been called-up by Avram Grant for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt.

The Ismaily schemer insists that Ghanaians who are excelling in the Egyptian topflight should have been given a shot by Israeli trainer Avram Grant in the must-win clash.

Jebrin's Ismaily teammate Emmanuel Banahene and Nana Poku of Misr Al-Maqassa were linked with being called-up but were overlooked for the likes of Alhassan Wakaso (Rio Ave) and Andy Yiadom of Barnsley.

"Of course the national team should have taken a look at us, we have several good players from Ghana playing in Egypt like Nana Poku and Emmanuel Banahene," Jebrin told Kingfut.com

"Even when I was on vacation in Ghana doing interviews, I said the same and people were wondering. We should have definitely gotten a look for this match.

“Ghana see this as a must win clash. They know they might not be able to afford losing. We saw the performance in Tamale against Uganda which wasn’t good, even after the match my agent and friends asked me why we were not performing that well,” the 25-year-old continued.

“Ghana can beat Egypt, we have a lot of good, quality players like Asamoah Gyan and Mubarak Wakaso".

Egypt host Ghana at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria on 13 November.
