The team are currently in the market searching for quality players to augment their squad for the 2024/25 football season.

However, the club is believed to have identified the Yellow and Mauve defender as the perfect left-back to beef up their squad for the upcoming season.

Barring any unforeseen issues, Ghazl El Mahalla will secure the services of the highly-rated defender for the new season.

Zamalek were in contention to sign Fatawu Hamidu but their coach reportedly rejected a move for the Ghanaian defender, giving Ghazl El Mahalla the advantage to secure his signature.

Hamidu’s impressive performance with the Yellow and Mauve earned him a call up into the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars in September 2023.

He made his debut for the national team against Liberia in an international friendly game in September, where Ghana triumphed 3-1 over their opponent.

The highly-rated defender was a standout for Medeama when they clinched their first-ever Ghana Premier League title during the 2022/23 football season.
