African footballing legend Essam El Hadary has opened a new chapter of his life following his retirement from playing last year.
The Egyptian agreed to become the goalkeeping coach for Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel.
The four-time AFCON winner made history as the oldest player to play in a World Cup match when he took the sticks for Egypt against Saudi Arabia aged 45 at the 2018 edition.
Widely regarded as one of the best African goalkeepers of all time, El Hadary will surely provide an abundance of knowledge to any goalkeeper he coaches.
Reports over the past weeks suggested the 47-year-old would return to the playing to represent Egyptian fourth-tier side ZED FC, although these rumours have obviously been squashed with his move to coaching.
He will work under Portuguese head coach Jovan Vieira, who coached El-Hadary just two years ago during their time together at Ismaily.
The three goalkeepers El-Hadary is set to coach are Makram Bediri, Achraf Krir, and Aymen Mathlouthi, with the latter representing Tunisia on 72 occasions before.
