Egyptian powerhouse, Al Ahly have started talks to sign Daniel Afriyie Barnieh from Hearts of Oak, the local media have reported.

The 21-year-old's contract with the Ghana Premier League side runs out at the end of December.

However, the Black Galaxies striker has refused to sign a new deal with the club.

Barnieh has been a key player for the Phobians for the past three seasons.

His impressive performance earned him a place in Black Stars' squad for the 2022 World Cup but did not feature in any of the games.

Reports also suggest that other European clubs are also interested in the services of the striker with Ahly also joining the race for the signatures of the promising striker.

Barnieh is currently with the Black Galaxies preparing for the 2023 African Nations Championship [CHAN] scheduled to be hosted in Algeria.

He has so far annexed the Premier League, two FA Cups, the Super Cup and the Presidents' Cup with Hearts of Oak.

The highly-rated forward has scored 13 goals and provided several assists in 69 appearances for Hearts across the three seasons he has spent with the club.
