Elizabeth Addo excited to make CAF Women's Footballer of the year shortlist

Black Queens captain Elizabeth Addo was left excited after she was nominated for the Africa Women's Player of the Year for 2019. 

The 26-year-old is the only Ghanaian player to make the 10-woman shortlist released by Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Sunday.

"I’m grateful and thankful to have been nominated for the 2019 CAF Women's Player of The Year Award," she tweeted. 

Addo has been impressive in the Chinese top-flight, scoring three goals in 14 games as he helped Jiangsu Sunning win the league championship.

She also guided the club to clinch win three other major trophies this year.

Among the shortlisted players are three times winner Asisat Oshoala, Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana who the award last year, Cameroon star Ajara Nchout Njoya, Tabitha Chawinga and others.

The list will be pruned down to three before the award ceremony which is slated for Tuesday 7 January 2020 at the Citadel Azure, Hurghada, Egypt.
