Elmina Sharks Coach Yaw Acheampong has praised his players following their 2-1 win over Ashantigold in Obuasi in the Ghana Premier League.

Sharks recorded their second win on a row on the road after Eric Owusu and Benjamin Tweneboah scored for Sharks to help them secure all three points against the miners.

Prince Owusu pulled one back for Ashantigold but it was not enough to earn them a point.

Coach Yaw Acheapong who was brought in to help Sharks avoid the drop said he was happy the players played to his tactics.

“It was a difficult game but I’m happy that our tactics worked, it was perfect. I want to congratulate the guys for the hard work,” he said after the game.

“I think we knew Ashantigold are good now. They are on a run of four games without a defeat so we decided to soak in the pressure as much as we can and after open up, so I think the buys did very good,”

"I think by now we know we are 50% at achieving our goal of escaping relegation but we still have to work hard to make sure we are 80% or 90% out of danger.” He added.

Elmina Sharks have now moved up the table to 11th position with 30 points and will next host Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League match Day 24.
