Former Ghana international, Malam Yahaya has reached an agreement with Elmina Sharks to become their new head coach in the ongoing 2021/22 season.

Yahaya, will take over from Odartey Lamptey, who left his role after just five matches into the new season - claiming he was sabotaged by some senior players in the team due to lack of playing time, hence the decision to resign.

Sharks have made a slow start to the season, winning two, drawing one and losing three after six matches played in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

Speaking to ASHH FM in Kumasi, the ex-King Faisal coach confirmed he's reached an agreement with the Elmina-based side and will finalise everything with them in the coming days.

"Yes! It’s true I have joined Elmina Sharks but my contract will be finalized by the close of tomorrow," he said.

"My fans should expect an amazing team. Our target is to build and make Elmina Sharks attractive and to be different from every team in the Ghana Premier League."
