English-born Ghanaian defender Emile Acquah scored in Barrow FC's 3-1 win against Northampton Town in the FA Cup Round 1.

Emile Acquah started the game at the Sixfields Stadium and lasted 61 minutes.

And Barrow got off to a flying start, taking the lead in the ninth minute as Emile Acquah rose highest to head home Elliot Newby's perfect corner.

Northampton kept pressing and leveled on 29 minutes when Mitch Pinnock converted from close range after Sam Hoskins diverted a Barrow shot into his path.

After a shaky start to the second half, Barrow reclaimed the lead in the 52nd minute when Tom White's powerful shot from 25 yards took a large deflection that totally fooled the keeper and curled into the back of the net.

Ben Whitfield's right footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom right corner sealed the win for Barrow in the 72nd minute.

Barrow will play Bradford in their next league game.
