Emmanuel Boateng features in Levante’s 5-0 defeat against Sevilla in La Liga

Published on: 26 January 2019

Ghana forward Emmanuel Boateng earned a starting line up as his side played Sevilla FC away in the Spanish La Liga on Saturday.

Boateng, 22, made a case of being a starter as he was very impressive especially in the first half of the game.

However, his outfit got whitewashed with five unanswered goals at end of an entertaining and breathtaking encounter.

Second half goals from Wissam Ben Yedder, André Silva, Dranco Vazquez, Pablo Sarabia and Quincy Promes condemned Levante UD to heavier defeat so far in the campaign.

Levante are 10th in the league table with 26 points after 21 round of matches played.

Emmanuel Boateng made way for Roger in the 76th minute where his side failed to find the back of the net.

The Ghanaian striker is experiencing a nightmare campaign so far this season, having scored six times and made one assist in 25 games in all competitions last season.

The maverick forward is without a goal in many appearances this season for Levante UD. He has started in seven games of his 11 appearances and failed to make any impact.

Boateng's compatriot Raphael Dwamena was an unused substitute in the game.
