Ghana and Dalian Yifang striker Emmanuel Boateng has set sights on breaking his deadlock for the club after making an impressive debut in a 1-1 stalemate against Henan Jianye over the weekend.

Boateng wants to score more goals for the club after making his mark in the Spanish La Liga with Levante where he famously scored a hat-trick against Barcelona in a 5-4 home victory last season to break the unbeaten run of the Catalan giants.

The 22-year-old is keen on replicating such goalscoring streak at his new club.

“For a professional football player, being able to stand on the court is a very happy thing," he said.

“I certainly hope that this season I will be able to score a lot of goals on behalf of Dalian and contribute to the club. Of course, football is an 11-person sport. I need to work hard with my teammates to score more goals.”

The Ghanaian youngster joined the Chinese Super League club from Spanish side Levante for an undisclosed fee.

He is in line to make his second appearance for Dalian Yifang when they take on Guangzhou R&F on Saturday.
