Emmanuel Gyamfi has signed a contract extension with Asante Kotoko, Kumasi FM has reported.

The skilful winger was expected to signed to leave the club at the end of the season but after fruitful negotiations, the winger has signed a one year contract to stay at the club.

The 26-year-old who is the deputy skipper for the side has been influential in the ongoing Ghana Premier League despite his early struggle from the start of the season.

Gyamfi has found his rhythm under Mariano Barreto in the second half of the season and expected to stay at the club for another season.

In the absence of Felix Annan, who is the captain of the side, Gyamfi has been phenomenal for the Porcupine Warriors.

Gyamfi joined the Kumasi-based club from lower-tier Shirak in 2016.

He will be hoping to steer the club to win the ongoing Ghana Premier League. Kotoko currently sit on top of the league log with 44 points after 25 matches played.

Kotoko will host WAFA in the matchday 26 games at the Obuasi Lane Clay Stadium this weekend.
