Ghana’s Emmanuel Gyasi was forced off with a slight injury issue as Spezia claimed what could be a season-saving 2-1 win over Inter Milan.

The Ghanaian attacker was substituted out after 81 minutes for Salva Ferrer to come on when they were 1-0 up against Inter through Daniel Maldini’s 55th minute goal.

The substitute Ferrer gave away a penalty just a minute after coming on to hand the visitors the equalizer through Romelu Lukaku.

M’bala Nzola netted the winner for the hosts from the spot with three minutes to the end of the game after Dumfries gave away a cheap penalty.

The Angolan was calm from 12 yards and slotted in expertly.

The extent of Emmanuel Gyasi, who is Spezia’s captain, is unknown.

The 29-year-old has not been selected by Chris Hughton for the Black Stars’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games against Angola.
