Emmanuel Ntim: Valenciennes defender determined to improve his game

Ghana and Valenciennes defender Emmanuel Ntim has stressed that he is hoping to continue working hard to ensure he develops and improves his game.

The full-back had a slow start to life in France since joining the club back in 2014 as a teenager. Though he was able to show his quality and earn playing time, he subsequently lost from and struggled to get minutes.

In the last couple of seasons, he has cemented a place in the Valenciennes team and has been a key member for the side in the ongoing French Ligue 2 season.

In an interview, Emmanuel Ntim has reminisced his difficult times at the club but says he has now moved on and has set his set on improving.

“It is not easy, I have to prove in every game, to be 100% focused for my progress and to help the team.

“You have to put in your head that you are the best when you play to have confidence in yourself. I'm not the best, but I'm in progression mode. Besides, I'm not the most bad either”, 23-year-old Ntim said.

The former Right to Dream Academy defender has made 28 appearances this season in all competitions and has one goal to his name.
