A Ghana junior international winger who was once reportedly on the ‘watch-list’ of English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur has popped up in the most unlikely of places after making his debut for Hednesford Town on Saturday.
Enoch Andoh, 26, came through the junior ranks at top Portuguese side FC Porto and also played in Cyprus for AEL Limassol, before joining English club Port Vale in 2014.
He then suffered a catastrophic injury and has battled to catch the eye since, and last season joined Macclesfield Town, where he was never used by boss Sol Campbell.
He had just one training session with non-league Hednesford Town before being signed and made his debut in the 3-2 victory over Barwell in the second qualifying round of the English FA Cup.
“I’m happy to have signed for Hednesford Town,” he said. “Everyone at the club from the staff to the players have really made me feel welcome from day one, and it was great to make my debut on Saturday in the FA Cup.
“The ambition of the club and the squad of players will stand us in good stead for promotion this season.”
Hednesford coach Gary Hayward believes Andoh will add greatly to his squad, and perhaps begin to get his once hugely promising career back on track.
“Enoch is a winger with bags of pace, I’m always grafting away looking for players who can bring something different to the squad and he fits that category,” he said.
