English Premier League club, Crystal Palace has confirmed that Ghanaian international, Jordan Ayew will be wearing the number 9 jersey ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

The Black Stars striker completed his move to the Eagles last month from lower division side Swansea City on a four-year deal that will see him playing at the club until the summer of 2023.

Ahead of the start of the English Premier League this weekend, Palace has handed Ayew his favorite number 9 jersey.

The 27-year old had earlier been given the number 18 jersey because the number 9 was in the custody of Alexander Sørloth. Following the departure of forward to Turkish side Trabzonspor on loan, Jordan Ayew has now been given the jersey for the upcoming season.

The Ghanaian recently enjoyed a fantastic campaign with the Black Stars of Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) where he bagged two goals in four matches and established himself as one of the best forwards at the tournament.

He is hoping to continue in that form to ensure he helps palace compete with the big boys of the EPL.

Crystal Palace will kick off their season at home to Everton with Ayew likely to start up front for his side.
