English Premier League legend, Alan Shearer is predicting a great future for teenager Tariq Lamptey following his explosive start to the 2020/2021 football season with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The English-defender who has Ghanaian roots have featured in all of Brighton’s 2 games in the English Premier League this season.
After a stellar outing for the team in their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea on the opening weekend of the season, Tariq Lamptey followed up with another outstanding show during his team’s win against Newcastle United on Matchday 2.
His displays against the Magpies saw him being picked by Alan Shearer in his team of the week after the second matchday.
Justifying why he picked the defender, the EPL and Newcastle legend had words of praise for the Brighton gem.
“The teenager only played for an hour but that hour was outstanding. He was a constant threat with his pace and nearly scored a deserved goal. A brilliant future lies ahead”, Shearer said.
