Ashanti Gold defender Eric Donkor has backed fellow teammate Richard Osei Agyemang to come good later this month when the side travels to Morocco to play against RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Osei Agyemang featured in the first leg of the encounter last weekend but unfortunately had a bad day which caused the team at the end of the 90 minutes though they managed to win 3-2.
Following several backlashes from fans of the club, experience defender Eric Donkor has jumped to the defense of his teammate whiles citing that ‘bad days happen in football’.
“Bad days happen in football. I will not feel good if I were in his shoes but we are a team. We win together and lose together. We are just encouraging each other and you can see the support we are giving to each other”, Donkor shared in an interview with Citi Sports.
The defender added, “We need to fight as a team. Osei Agyemang has been fantastic for us and so, one bad day does not mean he is a bad player. He needs to keep his head up and we fight together”.
Nicknamed the Miners, Ashanti Gold is currently intensifying training as they continue preparations for the return leg of the tie which has been scheduled for September 28, 2019, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.
