Essien names himself but excludes Ghanaian footballers from his African team of the decade

Ghana and Chelsea legend, Michael Essien has named himself but has excluded Ghanaian footballers from his African team of the decade.

With 2019 set to wrap up another decade, football stars and coaches around the globe have been naming their teams of the decade for various leagues, as well as continents.

Naming his team of the decade for African footballers, Black Stars legend Michael Essien has left out Ghanaian greats such as striker Asamoah Gyan and defender John Mensah.

Below is Michael Essien’s Africa team of the decade (2010-2019)

Goalkeeper: Vincent Enyeama.

Defenders: Kolo Toure, Mehdi Benatia, Kalidou Koulibaly, Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

Midfielders: Michael Essien, Yaya Toure, Sadio Mane.

Forwards: Mohamed Salah, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o
