Everton boss Ronald Koeman says Jonjoe Kenny is set to keep his place in the squad for the remainder of the season.
The U23s captain made his first senior appearance of the campaign – and just his second for the club – in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Swansea.
“We believe in our young players, but we have six or seven injuries – first-teamers and starting players," Koeman said of Kenny.
“So of course you need young players to work with. And OK, if they deserve an opportunity, and they are working hard to get opportunities to play, then that's good.
“That's why I brought Kenny in. I think that he is offensively better and more dangerous than Mason (Holgate) in his crosses. That was the reason we gave him the chance."
