Everton Boss Ronald Koeman Admits Interest in Manchester United Winger Memphis Depay

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that he would be interested in rescuing Memphis Depay from his disappointing spell with Manchester United.

Having made just four substitute appearances this season, it seems that Depay is destined for an Old Trafford exit, with Everton strongly linked.

And asked if he there was any truth to the rumours, Koeman toldFox Sports:"I would like to have him.I think he is an interesting player. He has great individual qualities. He just needs to play games."

A move may not be easy - or cheap - for Koeman, however, with Depay under contract with the Red Devils until 2019.

But a lack of game time, and Jose Mourinho's apparent view that he is dispensable, may pave the way for a club like Everton to make an approach.

Another compatriot,Fenerbahce coach Dick Advocaat has also advised Depay to make a change. Speaking before his side faced Manchester United in the Europa League earlier this month - viaSky Sports- he said:"The potential is there for him to be a good player.

"You cannot lose that, he has the quality to be a top player, but the problem for him is that there are so many quality players in that squad.

"Maybe he has to find another solution because he is too good to sit on the bench. I still believe in him, he has the right mentality, the right character to play for United.

"But there are so many options there. Regular playing time will help his progression."
