Everton are launching a bid for AA Gent goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic.
The Sun says Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has turned his attention to the Gent No1 after failing with an £8million bid for Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford earlier this week.
Everton still want the highly-rated 23-year-old, but were left stunned at the relegated Black Cats' requested fee – thought to be £30m.
Koeman will only go as high as £15m for the England Under-21s starlet as talks have stalled.
Everton are now looking at a move for 6ft 7ins stopper Kalinic, 27, as their new No1 – preparing an £18m for the Croatian.
