Ex-Ajax, Man Utd star Muhren blasts Mourinho: No top player moans about their amount of games

Former Manchester United and Ajax midfielder Arnold Muhren has slammed Jose Mourinho over his complaints about fixture pile up.

Ajax and United meet in the Europa League final this week.

Muhren barked: “I didn't like Mourinho's comments about a fixture pile-up.

"It sounds as if he is covering for himself before the final is played.

“No top player has ever moaned about the amount of games he has had to play.

“We all love playing games. I used to love it more than training. With Ipswich I used to play 65 games in a season. It was a normal thing – and we only had 14 outfield players then.

“Big names don't mean everything. United have some great players, they've massive talent in that squad, but sixth position in the Premier League?"
