Ex-England Star Tells Oxlade-Chamberlain to Snub Liverpool if They Make Bid in January

Sky Sports pundit Stuart Pearce has told Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to snub a move to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in January, and alsosuggests he's yet to find his best position at Arsenal.

The England international's future with the Gunners has come under scrutiny following the player's lack of consistent first-team action under manager Arsene Wenger in the last few seasons, and has made just eight starts in the Premier League this campaign.

As a result, a number of title chasing rivals, including Manchester City and Liverpool, have reportedly announced their interest in taking on the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, with the latter keen to replace Sadio Mane while he is absent from the squad in the African Cup of Nations in the new year.

However, speaking on Sky Sports (via theStar),Oxlade-Chamberlain's former England U21 coach Pearce has advised the player to think twice before making a switch, suggesting injuries and a lack of consistency is the only reason his career has been blighted so far, with both of these factors appearing to be improving.

"Two things I'd bring to the table when discussing Oxlade-Chamberlain," began Pearce.

"Firstly, he's had injuries that have blighted him at times, and secondly, if you turned around and said where's his best position, you would ask: 'Is it wide right? left? Can he play No.10?'

"He's played in all of them and I'm not sure I could tell you exactly where his position would be. I think he needs to stay at Arsenal to get a run of consistent games in the team."
