Former Ghana player Michael Essien has hailed long serving FC Roma player Francesco Totti.
After 786 games for his boyhood club, the legendary Italian departed the club on Sunday, following a dramatic 3-2 win over Genoa.
He is one of the greatest one-club players of all-time, having made 786 appearances for Roma.
Essien told asroma.com:
"I know Totti long enough, I played against him at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, in a preseason game with Chelsea and more often when I defended AC Milan, to be honest, he still has all his abilities like when I first met him.
"I really admire his overall ability, he is able to perform in any difficult competition, so I want to celebrate his career."
"I hope He enjoys these days and all the honors He deserves, I will see him soon when I am in Italy again or elsewhere where we will meet."
"All the best Legend & Good luck Totti!"
