Former Ghana striker, Kwesi Appiah scored for Northeast United in the India Super League on Tuesday evening at Odisha FC.

Diego Mauricio broke the deadlock of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up in the first half after his 23rd-minute strike found the back of the net.

The visitors struck back in the closing stages of the opening 45 minutes when Benjamin Lambot grabbed the equalizer for Northeast United FC before the break.

Five minutes on top of the hour mark into the game, the Ghanaian striker was handed the opportunity to put his side in the lead for the first time in the match and he dispatched the spot-kick expertly to make it 2-1 to his team.

Two minutes later, Cole Alexander restored parity for the hosts with a beautiful strike to level matters for the home team as the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

Appiah played 71 minutes and was substituted as he was replaced by Khassa Camara of Mauritania.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian attacker has three goals in eight matches this season in the India Super League for his team Northeast United FC.
