Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Ollenu Ashitey has commenced training with AshantiGold SC ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Footballghana.com can report.
The 25-year-old is currently undergoing trial at the Miners with the hope of securing a deal with the Obuasi-based side.
Ashitey could land a two-year deal with the Miners lads if he impresses their new head coach Ricardo da Rocha after during his three-week observation period.
He has been without a club after his contract with Asante Kotoko was terminated following his poor output last year.
He made only 13 appearances for Asante Kotoko during the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season.
