Former Hearts of Oak player and 2017 WAFU Cup winner, Patrick Razak has implored the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to lay a good foundation for players plying their trade in the country.

The Ghana FA’s executive council after a marathon meeting on Tuesday, June 30 decided to annul the season which had been suspended since March 16 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The decision is deemed as devastating for a football industry that was about finding its feet after close to 2 years on non-competitive action due to a period of normalization after the Anas Exposé.

Many football connoisseurs rooted for cancellation of the season as they cited as practically impossible for football to resume in the circumstances the country found itself in.

The former Horoya AC winger who shared disappointment with the truncation of the season has encourage the nation’s football governing body to place a good foundation for players to achieve greater height in their career.

Speaking to Bryt FM in Koforidua, Razak said, “We just hope for the best ones the season has been annulled. Personally I want our game to improve, I’m a player and I think there should be a good foundation for us. I wish the FA help the players to improve” he said.
