Ex-Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah ready to return to Hearts of Oak

Former Ghana and Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah has expressed readiness to return to Hearts of Oak in the near future.

Appiah began his club career at Hearts of Oak in 1995 at 15-years of age.

The 38-year-old enjoyed two fantastic seasons with the Phobians before leaving for Italian side Udinese in 1997.

Speaking to Joy Sports, 39-year-old says he grateful to the club and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

"Accra Hearts of Oak gave me the platform to exhibit what’s in me," he said.

"They really gave me a lot so if there is the need to come back and help technically why not. But for now, I haven’t receive any call from the board of directors."

Appiah was a member of the Ghana national team, which he has represented at the youth, Olympic, and senior levels.

He captained Ghana at their World Cup debut in 2006 and was a member of the team for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
