Ex-Kotoko star Kwame Boahene retires from football at age 28

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwame Boahene has retired prematurely from football at just the age of 28.

Boahen, who has been without a club since 2019 after leaving the Ghanaian giants is currently in the Netherlands.

However, he has decided to bow out from active football in order to pursue his interest in a different profession in the European country.

During his spell with the Porcupine Warriors, Boahene helped the club to clinched the 2017 MTN FA Cup beating sworn-rival 3-1 at the Aliu Mahama stadium in Tamale.

He was part of the Ghana U20 team that won silver medal at the 2013 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and bronze medal at the FIFA U20 World Cup held in Turkey.

The 28-year-old had stints with Liberty Professionals, Medeama and Asante Kotoko before retirement.
