Ex-Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba set to join Kenyan giants AFC Leopards

Former Asante Kotoko striker Songne Yacouba is set to join Kenya Premier League giants AFC Leopards ahead of next season, according to Kickgh.com.

The 28-year-old is currently without a club after failing to sign a contract extension at Asante Kotoko.

AFC Leopards have reached an agreement with his representative of over a possible switch in the coming days.

"It's true that our outfit has been talking to the representatives of him [Songne Yacouba]," an insider of AFC Leopards told Kickgh.com in an exclusive interview.

"He's a good player that any club will be glad to have in his squad. We are in advanced talks with them"

"We monitored him during the CAF Confederation Cup last season with his club. He will be a good addition to our team"

Yacouba moved to Kotoko in 2108 a two-year deal and has since been a key cog of the team.

He scored two goals and provided five assists for Kotoko during their 2018 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

He has been linked with a move to several clubs including Simba SC, Nkana FC, Zesco United, Al Hilal,  Zamalek, Al Ahly, and others.
