Former Asante Kotoko winger Joseph Amoako has become the third Ghanaian to be jailed in Sweden.

The 19-year-old has been sentenced to two-year in prison in the Scandinavian country for raping a 16-year-old girl.

And after serving his sentence, the winger will be expelled from Sweden and will not be allowed entry for ten years after his sentence.

He becomes the third Ghanaian to be jailed for rape after Kwame Bonsu and Kingsley Sarfo.

Kwame Bonsu was sentenced to years in prison for raping and assaulting his wife  whiles Kingsley Sarfo was jailed for two-years and eight months in the European country for two child rape counts in 2018.

Following the charges, Helsingborgs IF has terminated the Ghanaian youngster’s contract.

Amoako joined Kotoko in 2021 and after an impressive start to life in Kumasi earned the move to Sweden. He made nine appearances for Helsingborgs before he was sentenced.
