Ex-Liverpool midfielder Nigel Spackman has insisted that Reds star Philipe Coutinho won't be making the switch to Barcelona any time soon, after the Brazilian was heavily linked with the Spanish giants recently.

The Brazilian hasput in someimpressive Premier League performances so far this season.

With LFC TV reporting (ViaInsideFutbol), Coutinho, who scored in Brazil's 3-0 win over Argentine in the World Cup qualifiers, put in a solid performance against Southampton as the Reds drew 0-0 in what was a frustrating game for Jurgen Klopp's team.

Coutinho has scored six goals so far this season for Liverpool and has caught the eye of the La Liga champions, but Spackman feels the maestrois only focusing on playing for the Merseyside club, withthe 24-year-old at the heart of their title charge.

Spackman said, "I don't think he's agitated to leave, I think he knows he's in a really good moment himself and Liverpool are in a brilliant moment itself. I think the ambition of all the group of players, the manager and everybody associated with the club is to try and win the Premier League title this year."

Liverpool currently sit joint second of the league with Manchester City and Spackman says that despite Barca looking at the midfielder, he will be fully focused on the job at hand at Anfield:

"Okay, it might be Barcelona who having a look at you, it's fantastic to have big clubs looking at you, but you want to do it for the big club you're at."

"I think the prospects here, with the youthfulness within the squad, he must look and say, 'yes, I'm at the right club at the right time and I want to win things here."

The Reds have scored 30 goals this season, more than any other club and have a fierce attack.

If they don't burn out they have a fantastic chance of going all the way with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Coutinho himself all competing for spots in the lineup.
