Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is reportedly set to take over at German club Werder Bremen.

The Dutchman was fired by United at the end of last season, even after winning the FA Cup, and replaced by Jose Mourinho, but looks poised to head back to club management.

Bremen are currently at the bottom of the Bundesliga, having lost all four of their opening matches, scoring just three times and conceding 14. As a result, coachViktor Skrypnyk has been axed, andthe Hamburger Abendblattare claiming that the ex-United boss will soontake charge.

Van Gaal has experience coaching in Germany, and steered Bayern Munich to the league title back in 2010.

He insisted that the United job would be his last one after he replaced David Moyes in 2014, yet it seems that he could be convinced to take one last swing at management before finally calling it quits.

His pragmatic approach to the game could be just what the German outfit need to get back to winning games.Under-performingstars at the club are sure to be on edge, and throwing Van Gaal into the mix could set them straight.

The former manager has stayed out of the spotlight since being fired at United, but we could see him back in action pretty soon if there's any truth to the reports in Germany.
