Ghana's all-time highest goal scorer, Asamoah Gyan was not worried by hostility received from fans during Legon Cities game against Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League Saturday.

Gyan, who is yet to score a goal in the Premier League since joining the Royals was booed by a group of fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.

He climbed off the bench in the 75th minute as Emmanuel Gyamfi scored the only goal of the game to give Kotoko a 1-0 win on match day 22.

After coming on, the 35-year-old immediately drove a free-kick just over the bar with his first touch of the ball.

"There is only one Asamoah Gyan and they [fans] know it. They should even be grateful that I am playing in the Ghana Premier League,” Gyan, who has also been heavily criticised for putting on weight, said in response to the booing incident during the post-match press conference.

Gyan swerved the Porcupine Warriors to sign for Legon Cities on his return to the Ghana Premier League in October last year.
