EXCLUSIVE: Asamoah Gyan close to securing move to Indian Super League side NorthEast United FC

Published on: 18 September 2019

Footballghana.com can exclusively report that Ghanaian icon Asamoah Gyan is in advance talks with Indian Super League side NorthEast United over a possible transfer.

The Black Stars striker is currently without a club following his decision to walk away upon the expiry of his contract with Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor at the end of last season.

Checks have confirmed that the lethal forward is now in advanced talks with the Guwahati-based club and could secure a move to the side in no time if an agreement is reached in the course of the month.

Gyan, 33, is seen as the right man to replace Nigerian Bartholomew Owogbalor Ogbeche who emerged as the top scorer at the club with 12 goals for last season.

The formal Sunderland man is hoping to land a deal very soon as he is not ready to go into retirement now.

If NorthEast United manages to sign Asamoah Gyan, he will boost their chances of winning the 2019/20 Indian Super League.
