EXCLUSIVE: Atletico Madrid consider signing Baba Iddrisu as replacement for Thomas Partey

Published on: 02 June 2020

Atletico Madrid has identified Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu as the perfect replacement for Arsenal target Thomas Teye Partey in case he leaves the club this summer.

Partey, 25, has been beyond exceptional for the Rojiblancos in the last few seasons but has gained the most recognition this season on the back of his outstanding displays in the Spanish La Liga as well as the Uefa Champions League.

His exploits have attracted interests from some of Europe’s giants who are hoping to poach him away from the Wanda Metropolitano in the summer transfer window.

As reported by your most trusted online portal earlier, Thomas Partey is wanted by Manchester United, Arsenal, PSG, Juventus, as well as Inter Milan.

In a bid to have someone to fill the void that will be left by the midfielder should he leave, Atletico Madrid is considering making an approach for his compatriot Baba Iddrisu from RCD Mallorca, footballghana.com can exclusively report.

Baba, 24, has been pivotal for his club this season which resulted in a call-up to play for his national team, the Black Stars of Ghana.

Atletico sees him as the perfect fit and will try to bring him to the Spanish capital if Partey leaves.
