EXCLUSIVE: Central African Republic v Ghana clash to be staged in Luanda – 2023 AFCON qualifiers

Published on: 23 May 2022

Footballghana can exclusively report that the clash between Central Africa Republic and Ghana in the qualifiers for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament will be staged at the 11 de Novembro stadium, in Luanda, Angola.

After a disastrous showing at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, Ghana shamefully exited at the group stage, having failed to win a single match.

Subsequently, the team nicknamed the Black Stars immediately bounced back to give hope to Ghanaians when the side overcame Nigeria in the playoff round of the African qualifiers to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

With that cleared out of the way, Ghana is now preparing to start the campaign in the qualifiers of the 2023 AFCON.

In the first game of the first phase of the qualifiers, the Black Stars will welcome Madagascar to the Cape Coast Stadium on June 1, 2022.

Subsequently, Ghana will have to travel to Angola for the second match against the Central Africa Republic.

The game is unable to be played in the Central Africa Republic because all the stadia in the country lacks the approval from FIFA to host any international tournament.
