Exclusive: Ghana winger Edwin Gyasi to terminate Samsunspor contract today

Ghana international, Edwin Gyasi will terminate his contract with Turkish lower-tier side, Samsunspor today, Footballghana.com can exclusively confirm.

The 29-year-old joined the Turkish side on two and half year deal last summer as a free agent after leaving Bulgarian side, CSKA Sofia.

Gyasi made an instant impact at the club but was shockingly hit with a Covid-19 and had to be isolated for 14 days.

Upon his return, the pacy winger was hit with an injury.

Prior to the second half of the TFF League 1, Gyasi joined Boluspor on loan from Samsunspor.

After an impressive second half with Boluspor, the Dutch-born forward returned to his parent club.

Gyasi who has been in Ghana for holidays has returned to Turkey on Monday night to terminate his contract with the Samsuns based club.

He scored just a goal with 15 appearances for the club before leaving on loan.

Gyasi is expected to join English Championship side this summer.

Gyasi has previously been linked with a move to giants Besiktas JK with reports suggesting he agreed on a two-year deal.

The FC Twente Enschede and AZ Alkmaar youth player managed only three appearances in the Bulgarian league last season.

Gyasi has also had stints with De Graafschap, Roda JC, Heracles Almelo, Aalesund and FC Dallas.
