Exclusive: Kwasi Okyere Wriedt becomes sixth Ghanaian to score at least ten goals in the Eredivisie

Ghanaian attacker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt has become the sixth Ghanaian footballer to score at least ten goals in the Dutch Eredivisie following his strike over the weekend.

The former Bayern Munich forward netted his second goal of the season when his outfit Willem II Tilburg defeated FC Groningen on Saturday.

Wriedt got the opening goal for the home side as they recorded a 2-1 scoreline to triumph over Groningen in the 5th round fixture.

The 27-year-old opened the scoring at the Konig Willem II Stadion as early as the 5th minute after receiving a defence-splitting pass from Gorkem Saglam.

Willem II doubled their advantage in the 24th minute through Moroccan midfielder Dries Saddiki after he was set up Wriedt before Groningen scored a consolation in the 61st minutes through Slovakian teenager Tomas Suslov.

Kwasi Okyere has become the sixth Ghanaian player to score at least ten goals in the Dutch Eridivisie after Mathew Amoah (116), Prince Polley (38), Kwame Quansah (19), Nii Odartey Lamptey (10) and Nana Asare (10).

The enterprising forward has featured in all five matches this campaign for Willem II and has scored twice and assisted once in the process.
