Rahman, who joined the Blues in 2015 and made 24 appearances is expected to leave club in the coming days with France his likely destination.

A fully-fit Baba Rahman had loan spells at Schalke (two times) and Reims in France last season.

He participated at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars of Ghana.

According to reports in England, the former Asante Kotoko defender has refused to sign a long-term contract and go out on a loan again.

St Etienne and Olympic Marseille have both expressed interest in signing the player who has two years left on his contract.

Chelsea have been holding on to the prospects of sending Baba on loan to Burnley this summer but the lack of guarantee of playing time put the deal on the ice with the player hoping to secure a club that will assure him at least 25 games for the seaon.

With the transfer window not closing till early September, Baba still trains with the loan team in Cobham but he is confident he will exit the club soon.
