According to reports in Spain, Ghanaian international Mohammed Salisu is reluctant to sign a new deal with his Real Valladolid side amid strong interest from top European clubs.

The center-back has been in devastating form since the start of the 2019/2020 season and continues to perform excellently whenever he steps onto the pitch.

This has resulted in several European clubs expressing interest in his services ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

In a recent interview, Real Valladolid sports chief Miguel Angel Gomez has revealed that talks of contact extension between the club and the defender have hit the wall.

According to him, they have tried to review and extend the contract of Ghanaian which is expected to expire in 2020 but talks have not been successful.

“Salisu perceives the love of the club because we have made three contracts in 13 months.

"He knows that he is an important player and that we would like to proceed with that renewal, but today there is a standstill”, Miguel Angel Gomez said.

Mohammed Salisu is reportedly been monitored by Manchester United, Newcastle United, Sevilla, and several other clubs.

He could go for a cool €12m as contained in the buyout clause of his contract.
