EXCLUSIVE: NSA ready to sell naming rights of Accra Sports Stadium

Published on: 04 June 2020

The National Sports Authority (NSA) are open to selling the naming rights of the Accra Sports Stadium for $3 million dollars, footballghana.com sources have discovered.

The stadium bears the title of Ohene Djan stadium, named after the country's first director of sports. The name came up in 2004.

In 2011, the Ohene Djan Stadium name on the building was changed to the Accra Sports stadium without any official announcement by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly supported by the National Democratic Congress Government.

The NSA now seeks to sell the naming rights for $3 million dollars over a period of five years for any entity that can pay the amount, footballghana.com understands.

At the moment, Ohene Gyan's family has sent a petition to the presidency of the republic for the name to revert to Ohene Djan stadium.
