Bundesliga side SC Paderborn have released Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei to join the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on Thursday, Footballghana.com can exclusively report.

Antwi-Adjei had pulled out of Black Stars squad for the qualifiers due to failure to acquire his Ghanaian passport, making it impossible to travel to the country.

He was expected to acquire the required documentation to enable him travel to his native country this week but bureaucracy in securing his passport.

"In an intensive dialogue with the authorities, all those involved were finally able to find a solution," the SCP said.

The 25-year-old will now travel to the country for the qualifiers, however, he is unlikely to feature for coach Kwesi Appiah's side on Thursday at the Cape Coast stadium.

After the game against South Africa, Ghana will travel to São Tomé and Príncipe to face them in their second Group C game.
